GoTo Resolve Plan Overview

GoTo Resolve plans scale along two primary dimensions: number of managed devices (computers and servers with the agent installed) and number of technician seats (users with console access). The free tier sets a starting point for small teams; paid tiers remove or raise those limits and unlock advanced features.

GoTo Resolve Free Plan

The free tier is a permanently free plan — not a trial — that lets small IT teams or solo IT professionals experience GoTo Resolve without a credit card. It is genuinely useful for very small environments.

  • 3 unattended devices — manage up to 3 computers or servers with the agent
  • 1 technician seat — one console user with remote access capability
  • Remote access and support — attended and unattended remote sessions included
  • Basic monitoring — limited alert types on free plan
  • Helpdesk — basic ticket handling included
  • No credit card required to start
The free plan does not include patch management, advanced monitoring rules, session recording, or multi-technician access. For teams managing more than 3 devices or with multiple technicians, a paid plan is required.

GoTo Resolve paid plans are tiered by device count. Technician seats are included based on the plan type — some plans have a fixed technician-to-device ratio; others allow adding seats separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is GoTo Resolve really free?
Yes. GoTo Resolve has a permanently free plan that supports up to 3 unattended devices and 1 technician. It is not a time-limited trial — the free plan remains free as long as you stay within the device and feature limits.
How does GoTo Resolve pricing compare to TeamViewer?
GoTo Resolve and TeamViewer both offer free tiers and per-device paid plans. TeamViewer's pricing has historically been per-user/per-technician; GoTo Resolve's is per-device. For small teams managing many devices, GoTo Resolve can be more cost-effective. For teams that primarily do attended support with few managed devices, TeamViewer may be better structured. See our GoTo Resolve vs TeamViewer comparison for a deeper analysis.
Can I upgrade from the free plan later?
Yes. You can upgrade from the free plan to any paid tier at any time from within the GoTo Resolve console under Settings → Billing. Your existing devices, users and data carry over when upgrading.
Is annual billing required?
No — GoTo Resolve offers both monthly and annual billing. Annual billing typically carries a discount (commonly around 20% off the monthly equivalent rate, though exact discounts vary). Monthly billing offers more flexibility.
What happens when I exceed my device limit?
If you install the agent on more devices than your plan allows, the console will prompt you to upgrade your plan. Excess devices may become unmanaged or unmonitored until you upgrade. The exact behavior — devices queued vs. rejected — depends on the plan terms at time of installation.
