Rebrand Guide

GoTo Assist to GoTo Resolve — The Rebrand Explained

GoTo Assist — GoTo's long-running remote support product — was rebranded and substantially expanded into GoTo Resolve in 2022. The change was not simply a name swap: GoTo Resolve introduced a full IT management platform on top of the remote support capabilities GoTo Assist was known for.

TL;DR
  • Same credentials: Your GoTo account email and password still work
  • New URL: console.gotoresolve.com (old GoTo Assist URL redirects here)
  • Same remote support: Attended and unattended sessions work as before
  • New capabilities: RMM, helpdesk ticketing, patch management, asset inventory
  • GoTo Assist retired: The standalone product is no longer sold separately

What Happened

GoTo (formerly LogMeIn) restructured its IT product line in 2022. GoTo Assist — which focused on attended remote support for customer service and IT help desks — was merged into a new, broader platform called GoTo Resolve.

GoTo Resolve retains all of GoTo Assist's remote support capabilities but adds the kind of infrastructure management tools typically found in dedicated RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) platforms: unattended device management, monitoring and alerting, patch management, software inventory, and script execution.

The rebranding also aligned with GoTo's consolidation of its product naming — GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, GoToConnect and GoTo Resolve all now operate under a single GoTo account identity.

GoTo Assist vs GoTo Resolve — Same Product, Different Names

Users who search for "GoTo Assist login" or "GoTo Assist remote support" in 2026 are looking for GoTo Resolve. The names refer to the same platform lineage:

NamePeriod activeStatusLogin URL
GoTo AssistUntil 2022Retired / redirects(redirects to GoTo Resolve)
GoTo Resolve2022 – presentCurrentconsole.gotoresolve.com

Where to Log In Now

The GoTo Resolve console is at console.gotoresolve.com. If you try to navigate to the old GoTo Assist URL, you will be redirected to GoTo Resolve automatically.

Update your browser bookmarks to console.gotoresolve.com. If you use a password manager, update the URL entry — the login form is at the same domain but may behave differently than the old GoTo Assist login if your password manager auto-fills the old address.

Your Credentials After the Rebrand

Nothing changes about how you authenticate. GoTo Resolve uses the same unified GoTo account that GoTo Assist used:

  • Email: Same as your GoTo Assist login
  • Password: Same — GoTo uses a single password across all GoTo products
  • Two-factor authentication: Same device or method you configured in GoTo Assist
  • Single sign-on (SSO): If your organization configured SSO for GoTo Assist, it carries over to GoTo Resolve
Your customer list, device groups, unattended access settings and technician accounts were all migrated from GoTo Assist to GoTo Resolve. You do not need to set up devices or users again.

What Changed in the Rebrand

  • Product name: GoTo Assist → GoTo Resolve
  • Console URL: Old GoTo Assist URL → console.gotoresolve.com
  • Pricing structure: GoTo Resolve introduced a free tier (up to 3 devices, 1 technician) not available in all GoTo Assist plans
  • Interface: The console UI was redesigned with a unified navigation for remote access, helpdesk and monitoring
  • Support tiers: Plan names and feature bundling changed; check current pricing

What Stayed the Same

  • All remote support functionality (attended and unattended sessions)
  • GoTo account credentials
  • Existing device connections and customer data
  • Technician and administrator account structure
  • Session recording and chat
  • The GoTo desktop application for technicians (updated to GoTo Resolve branding)

New Capabilities Added in GoTo Resolve

GoTo Resolve substantially expanded the platform beyond what GoTo Assist offered:

RMM Monitoring

Continuous monitoring of device health — CPU, memory, disk, services — with configurable threshold alerts.

Helpdesk Ticketing

Integrated ticket system with email-to-ticket intake, assignment workflows and resolution tracking.

Patch Management

Windows OS and third-party app patches, scheduled or on-demand, with approval workflows.

Asset Inventory

Automatic hardware and software inventory of all agent-managed devices, updated in real time.

Script Runner

Run PowerShell, bash and batch scripts on individual devices or device groups from the console.

Free Tier

GoTo Resolve offers a free plan supporting 3 unattended devices and 1 technician — broader than GoTo Assist's trial.

FAQ — GoTo Assist to GoTo Resolve
